I just placed an order for a portrait but how do I get my base photo to you?

We sincerely recommend that you contact us before placing an order for any custom portrait. To guarantee we can create the exact portrait you are hoping for, we review and discuss with you all base photo options you have to find just the right one. Once we agree on which one will produce the most amazing portrait, then you can place the order on our website.

 

Do you accept orders outside the USA?

​We sure do accept digital download portrait orders from the following countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greenland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Netherlands, Sweden, Switzerland. The cost of shipping a physical portrait would be at LEAST $75 USD. We are happy to accommodate international customers and be able to save them money by providing the service without breaking the bank.

If you live outside the US, and still want a physical portrait, please contact us first so we can provide cost estimates and arrange shipment.

 

What format are the portraits available in?

• Digital File Download: Can be shared with family and friends. No physical print will be sent.
• Gallery Wrap Stretch Canvas: For a modern yet classic gallery look, our canvases offer vibrant color saturation and a protective coating to preserve your artwork for generations. The stretched canvas design adds a tactile, museum-quality finish, perfect for adorning walls and sparking conversations.
• Posterboard: Ideal for a classic, vintage aesthetic, our premium posterboard mimics the texture and finish of antique prints. With archival-quality materials, your portrait will resist fading, ensuring it remains a cherished heirloom. Posterboard will be printed with realistic canvas texture look for that heirloom appearance.

We create our portraits in common sizes so that if you choose posterboard, finding a frame will not be a hassle.

Do you offer framed options?
We currently sell unframed canvas and posterboard prints. However, the canvas’s 1.5‑inch depth gives it a framed look straight out of the box. If you prefer a frame, any standard picture framer can easily accommodate our sizes.

 

Can I Include more than one child (or pet) in the portrait?

Absolutely! Our compositions can accommodate siblings, cousins or even pets with people for a nominal fee.

 

What if my pet is small in a chair studio portrait setting?

The chair scales to fit your pet’s size, ensuring they’re always the focal point. Small dogs may be rendered larger while large dogs may be rendered smaller scale. 

 

What if my photo isn’t high‑resolution?
We can work with lower‑resolution images, but the level of detail may be limited. For the best outcome, we recommend a photo of at least 1 MB. We will work extensively with you to choose just the right base photo to create an amazing portrait painting.

 

Can I request changes after the painting is finished?
We provide a digital proof for you to approve before printing. Once the piece is printed, changes are not possible, but we’ll work closely with you during the planning and proof stage to ensure you’re happy.

 

What do you mean by 'Old Masters' painting style?

The great painters during the 14th to the 19th century knew how to create amazing images with oil paint on canvas. This style provides immense detail while covering the canvas with thick brush strokes. Although our portraits are created using state of the art digital technology instead of brushes, we have developed a process that closely duplicates the jaw dropping oil paint detail they used, often taking them months to create. If you have ever toured a fine arts museum, you will know the work we are referring to. The look is timeless and will be much more worthy of being an 'heirloom' than any average photograph. Unless requested, we don't normally do this style on the sports portraits due to the informal subject matter, but we can if you would prefer.

 

How long does it take to receive my custom portrait?

​Years of experience has proven that to produce the quality heirloom portrait our clients have come to expect, this requires a lot of time and personalized attention to detail. With this level of dedication to each and every portrait, I only accept a commission for at the very most, two portraits per week. Normally you will receive a proof to approve within 48 hours.

Any edits requested add time to the creative production time. Once approved, then your order is sent out to our professional lab for processing. Artboard takes appx 3-5 days, whereas stretch canvas can take up to 2 weeks.  Once we receive the finished portrait, we normally ship within 24 hours. All artwork is shipped by USPS and normally take appx 3 - 5 days for delivery within the continental USA. International orders are subject to your country's customs procedures and may take appx 2 weeks.

Digital downloaded orders take only a day or two to arrive by email and will not include any physical prints.

 

What does it mean you create a custom portrait from MY photo?

​When you send us your favorite digital photo of your pet / child / athlete, you already know you love the pose and expression. We digitally remove him/her/them from your photo and blend them into the fantasy background or scene of your choice.  There is never any concern if the finished portrait will look like or catch the personality of your subject because it IS them from YOUR photo.  We just need a large, clear and well lit photo and we do the rest!

 

What does 'fantasy' or 'fairytale' portrait mean?

​Our 'Fantasy' portraits are scenes and settings that don't actually exist.  We have artistically created these backgrounds for dramatic and jaw dropping portrait paintings.

If you have an idea of a scene you would like created, don't hesitate for one minute in contacting us and passing that idea along. We are very happy to make something very special and one of a kind for your one of a kind fur or human family member.

 

Can I use a photograph from our photographer for a custom portrait?

Due to strict copyright infringement laws we cannot use any copyrighted material. If you have an image from your photographer that is not copyrighted, we need to check with that photographer first before we can use it. Customer submitting photos assumes all responsibility for those photos that they are not covered by any copyright.

 

What are the shipping charges for my order?​

US Postal Service bases their cost on the size of the parcel and weight right down to the ounce, and the zip code.  In the shopping cart the shipping charges will be calculated. Continental USA orders over $99.00 are shipped free of charge.

 

What do I do if my order arrives damaged?​

Every order is shipped fully insured so all you need do is notify us right away and we will begin the process of submitting a damage claim and replacing the damaged item. Certain international destinations do not accept insurance so it may be a wise idea to check with your local authorities concerning insured parcels from the United States.
